Bermuda women’s rugby sevens team finished sixth overall at the recent Caribbean Championships in Cayman Islands, missing out on reaching the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organisation Games (CAS0) by one place.

The Islanders, who won three of their six games, beat second seeds Jamaica on the first day of the Championships and almost pulled off a shock against regional champions Trinidad, narrowly losing 17-12. Bermuda’s displays were even more impressive considering three of their players had never before played contact rugby.
