Bermuda’s preparations to host this year’s Carifta Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships have received another shot in the arm after Clarien Bank announced its sponsorship for the annual regional event.

The sponsorship reflects the company’s Clarien for Life philosophy, supporting individuals throughout every stage of life, from encouraging children to participate in sport through initiatives such as Iron Kids Bermuda, to helping young athletes compete on the regional stage and achieve their ambitions.

It also comes at an exciting time for the Bank as Clarien continues to strengthen its presence across the Caribbean, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the communities and markets it serves.

Ian Truran, chief executive officer of Clarien Bank, said the company has always believed that its role extends beyond banking.

Clarien joins other leading Bermuda companies and the Government of Bermuda, through Sport and Tourism, among the major sponsors supporting the Championships.

Corporate sponsorship enables us to welcome athletes from across the Caribbean and deliver an event that showcases Bermuda at its very best,” members of the 2026 Carifta Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships local organising committee Steven Petty, the former Bermuda Triathlon Association president, and Alec Shepherd said in a joint statement.

The championships are on October 24 and 25 and will welcome approximately 200 athletes aged 11 to 21 from 12 Caribbean nations to Bermuda for the region's premier youth triathlon competition.

Bermuda are hosting the event as defending champions after winning the overall Carifta trophy for the first time in Trinidad and Tobago last year.

Dame Flora Duffy, the Olympic and World Champion, will attend the championships to inspire the next generation of Caribbean athletes as they showcase their skills on Bermudian soil.
