It was third time lucky for Canadian junior sailor Will Kielty, who won the 2026 RenaissanceRe Junior Gold Cup.

Kielty beat 27 other sailors from 14 countries, winning seven of the 12 races to finish on 22 points, 11 clear of British challenger Charlie Holland with Mexican Jorge Munoz-Uribe finishing third on 53 points after four days of sailing in the Great Sound.

Nataleah Wallin, from Sweden, was the top female, finishing fourth overall and Rex Henagulph took Bermuda bragging rights, ending the regatta in ninth position.

Heath Meyers (tenth), Jesse Savage (11th), Ishmael Dill (16th), Aaron Riker (17th), Alfie Jansma (19th), Hudson Pitcher (20th) Elaine Jones (21st), Mason Portelli (23rd), Ishaan Dutt (24th), Leo DeCouto (25th), Eamon Tiwari (26th), James Decouto (27th) and Jacob Beale (28th) were the other Bermuda sailors in the event.

This was Kielty’s last appearance in the event ― he also competed in 2023 and 2025 ― as he ages out of the Optimist class. His victory in Bermuda caps a stellar year in which he finished seventh at the Optimist World Championships in Tangiers, Morocco.

The regatta closed with a race in Hamilton Harbour on Saturday during the break between the Bermuda Gold Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals. That final race was won by Holland.
