Devonshire Colts 1Dandy Town 3Dandy Town midfielder Damon Ming hailed his team-mates’ solid team performance as they continued to apply pressure on league leaders North Village after beating Devonshire Colts at Police Field.Ming scored while skipper Raymond Beach and Fabian Frankson also struck for Town, while Kyle Jones scored for Colts.“We played well today although we started a bit slow, the passing was there and playing for one another so on a whole it was a good day,” said Ming.“We missed a lot of chances today but in the end we got dug deep and got the result.”It was Colts who squandered the first real chance of the match in the 17th minute when winger Carlos Trott ghosted into the Town area only to see his shot hit the outside of the post.They were made to pay for the miss when Ming was chopped down in the box, leaving referee Stephen Allen, who had run a 5K earlier in the day, no choice but to point to the spot.Ming calmly dusted himself off and slotted his kick home.Heys Wolfe could have scored a handful of goals in this game but his unusual wayward shooting kept Colts in the game.Colts grabbed the leveller when Jones jumped off the bench to score in 69th minute.But Town hit back almost immediately when Frankson slammed home from 18 yards in the 71st minute to put his side back ahead.It was left for captain Beach to put the finishing touches on the game when he flicked home a Seion Darrell cut back in the 76th to settle matters.“This is an important match because we must take advantage of any mistakes the leaders make and this result with theirs goes a long way,” added Ming.“I told the boys that every game from here on in will be a scrap and teams are playing for different reasons, whether it be relegation or battling for a higher place in the league so we have to continue to work hard.”Devonshire Colts: G Rose, C Durham, K Wade, M Burch, E Wilkin, D Washington, J Khan, L Symonds, R Tyrell, C Trott (M Pace,78), Z Wilson (K Jones, 58).
