North Village 1St. George's 1Premier Division leaders North Village had to settle for a share of spoils against a resilient St. George's at Bernard Park yesterday.A laboured looking Rams side enjoyed the superior swathes of possession throughout the encounter but never really threatened Colts' unyielding defence.When they did finally breach the visitors' backline midway through the second period it took individual brilliance from Jason Lee who struck a thunderous shot into the top left-hand corner from around 25 yards out.Still, Colts stuck to their disciplined game plan, maintained their defensive structure and found themselves on level terms on 76 minutes when Clay Darrell curled in a corner kick which somehow drifted into the far corner of the net.Village huffed and puffed in their efforts to find a winner but lacked their usual cutting edge in attack and other than a few half chances never really looked like scoring again.Colts coach Richard Todd said he was satisfied with his team's result but believes his side must add with attacking invention to their defensive steel.“I'm pleased with the result but not so happy with our performance” said Todd, whose side are fourth in the division. “Defensively we're very organised and that's what's keeping us in games but in order to beat the better teams we need to show more going forward. Against the better teams like Village, PHC and Devonshire Cougars you need to do a bit more.”Todd, a former Village player, put the Rams' unusual lethargic display down the fact they hadn't played a game for a fortnight.“I thought Village looked a bit flat today, that's probably because they haven't played for a few weeks.
