BBFS near the end of whirlwind Euro tour

The Bermuda Brazilian Football School (BBFS) have continued their whirlwind European tour with three matches against English opposition at Chelsea’s training ground.

Over the past ten days, the local contingent have travelled to Holland, Germany and England, winning six of their 11 matches against foreign opposition.

They finished their Dutch leg of the tour with four wins and four losses, before travelling to London to attend Chelsea’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge.

Cal Blankendal, the BBFS CEO, said: “The tour has been a success thus far, with a wealth of information and opportunities for both the players and coaches.

“The players have been able to see Ajax and Chelsea matches, train with top class youth academy coaches, tour Amsterdam and London for cultural and educational exposure and purchase EPL and Eredivisie jerseys of their favourite teams.”

During the trip, the BBFS coaching staff of Dennis Brown, Blankendal, Germaine Smith and Jenay Bailey-Edness have soaked up the wealth of information and practical sessions. Brown and Blankendal have also been able to extend the BBFS’ network and hope to bring more quality programmes to –Bermuda.

The BBFS will close out the tour against Colchester’s youth academy.
