Defending champs’ win streak snapped by Pot

Vasco 2 Lobster Pot 4

Defending champions Vasco will not go undefeated this year after losing to Lobster Pot.

Vasco took the lead through Rui Sebastiao only to have Pot storm back with three goals through Johnny Bean, Henry Santucci and Nicholas Dunkle.

The deficit was cut to one when Joe Barbosa scored from a corner kick for Vasco.

Pot added a fourth midway through the second half with Santucci grabbing his second.

BAA 5 Flanagan’s Onions 2Robin Hood 2 Tuff Dogs 1

Flanagan’s Onions were out of the blocks first against a sluggish BAA team and took the lead through Adam Griffiths.

BAA levelled on 40 minutes when debutant Alex Hunter chipped the goalkeeper from 30 yards and went ahead two minutes later with a Ross Nottingham thunderbolt from distance.

The second half was one-way traffic with substitute Neal Churchill grabbing a quick brace to make it 4-1 to BAA.

Onions pulled one back through John Tullybut on 80 minutes before BAA’s Damian Mendoza rounded things off with a fine run and finish.

Robin Hood edged out Tuff Dogs despite trailing at half-time after Lamaul Crofton opened the scoring.

Dogs then had two men sent off for violent conduct and the other for verbal abuse.

Hood pressed their two-man advantage and Johnny Neascu pulled the sides level shortly after with a glancing header.

Dogs battled hard and were still very dangerous on the break but the winning goal came late on when Hood’s Nathan Samuelsd created an opening before driving the ball home.

St George’s 5 St David’s 2

St George’s got their inaugural Corona League campaign off to a winning start as they defeated their East End rivals St David’s.

Rudell Pitcher scored the season’s first goal to give St. George’s the lead but it was short-lived as Ajuan Lambe equalised soon after.

Chris Pitcher then scored for St David’s.

However, two more goals from Pitcher gave St George’s the lead once more.

Strikes from Andy Williams and Brent Minors made the three points safe.

Lock N Key 3

West End United 0

Lock N Key got their season off to a winning start as they saw off West End United.

Dion Stovell scored twice while Stephen Astwood added another.
