Holder happy Colts’ replay pushed back

Devonshire Colts president Lee Holder believes the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) made the correct decision to reschedule his club’s FA Cup quarter-final replay against Robin Hood to next Thursday. The tie was scheduled to be played tomorrow night at BAA Field, but Colts sent a letter to the local governing body requesting the match to be pushed back.In the letter, the club asked for their replay to be rearranged until after the Devonshire Cougars/North Village replay was played as those two sides had played each other two days prior to Colts’ 1-1 draw with Hood last Sunday.“We sent a letter to the BFA as soon as we heard about the date, asking that our game get pushed back to a later date,” said Holder. “We feel that given (Village and Cougars’ game) was a draw on the Friday night, that should be the first replay game, not ours.“We played Sunday, we will have to play tomorrow night, as well as Sunday and we got some knocks but we just want to be competitive so we asked for this.“Players also have commitments outside the game that have to be taken into consideration.”Holder is confident his troops can defeat Premier Division Hood and advance to the next round.“We are capable of getting the result in the replay, obviously we drew on Sunday and if you don’t lose you can always get positives out of the game, so we will get ready for the game when it’s played.“We view this as an opportunity to show the younger players in our club the chances that they will be given as they come into the team, we don’t have the pleasure of having a big squad, so we are trying our best to implement a good structure.“When you look at what Somerset Trojans have done in bringing through their young players and giving them a chance to showcase their talent, that’s something we are looking to do as well, and they are have some unexpected success in many people’s eyes.”
