Zebras close to title triumph

PHC Zebras all but clinched the Women’s Futsal League after producing an emphatic win against Dandy Stars Gold at Dellwood Middle School Gym at the weekend.

Zebras prevailed 9-2 with Aaliyah Nolan leading the charge with four goals. Kalay Hollis, Micah Pond, Taznae Fubler and Sideya Dill netted PHC’s remaining goals.

Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil and K'Sheala Burch Waldron replied for Dandy Stars Gold who trailed Zebras by four goals at the half.

“With this win PHC has basically won the league,” said Women’s Fustal League president Peter Sousa. “Even if they were to lose their last game their goal difference is so much more than second place North Village that they would have to lose by 20 goals in order for North Village to win.”

Reigning league champs Village were the weekend’s biggest winners as they completely destroyed winless Hamilton Parish 26-3 in a lopsided affair.

Rams led 15-1 at the half and never took their foot off the throttle when play resumed.

Skyla Huntae-Todd led the Rams’ goalfeast with six goals, Naquita Robinson bagged five, Kyla Ramatar and Whitnae Duerr both added four, Teiyah Durham scored a hat -trick, Zakiyah Durham added a brace while LeiLanni Nesbeth and Smira Lowe-Darrell netted one apiece.

Parish replied through goals from Ziah Harris who scored twice and Darcey Gimis.

Saturday’s remaining game saw Dandy Stars Brown prevail 6-2 against Somerset Trojans in an exciting contest.

Zara Gibbons and Leah Smith both netted hat-tricks for Dandy Stars Brown who continued their impressive late season form.

Eva Frazzoni bagged both goals for a Trojans side that trailed 4-2 at the half.

Young Men’s Social Club had a bye at the weekend.
