Wells on target but City crash out of cup
Nahki Wells continued his bright start to the season but couldn't prevent Bradford City — last season's beaten finalists — from crashing out of the Capital One Cup tonight.
Bradford lost 2-1 at Championship side Huddersfield Town who had been linked with a summer move for the Bermuda striker.
Wells, who scored in Bradford's opening game of the season at Bristol City, came on as a second half substitute and struck in the final minute with a long range effort.
Huddersfield took the lead before the break when James Vaughan placed a shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
Vaughan doubled Town's advantage with a header from substitute Adam Hammill's centre.
This is the second year the previous season's beaten finalists have been knocked out in the first round.
Wells helped the Bantams reach the final of last season's competition when they lost 5-0 to Swansea City, having beaten Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa en route to Wembley.
