U17s women stun Trinidad

Bermuda Under-17s women warm-up for their game against Trinidad in the CFU World Cup qualifiers in Haiti.

Bermuda Under-17s women’s national have team pulled off a stunning victory over regional powerhouse Trinidad in the CFU World Cup qualifiers in Haiti.Star striker Aaliya Nolan struck midway through the second half to ensure the Gombey Warriors’s advanced to the semi-finals.Bermuda, who defeated Dominican Republic 3-1 at the weekend, are scheduled to take on Grenada in their final group on Wednesday.Grenada were thrashed 10-0 by Trinidad in their opening group game.Bermuda skipper Kali Lespere insisted their would be no letting up despite already qualifying for the semis.“Yes, we have already qualified for the semis but we will keep the pressure up and not give up.“We won’t be letting up and we won’t be taking it easy.”The top two teams from each group in the Haiti tournament will compete in the semi-finals to be played on Friday.The two finalists will then participate in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers scheduled for Jamaica from October 30-November 9.USA, Canada, Mexico, hosts Jamaica, Central American qualifiers El Salvador and Guatemala await the two CFU advancing teams.
