Zebras heap more misery on Social Club

PHC Zebras, the defending Women’s Futsal League champions, romped to an emphatic victory against winless Young Men’s Social Club at Warwick Academy gym on Saturday.

Led by a Jessica Furtado hat-trick, Zebras hammered their rivals 10-2 to extend their unbeaten record to two games.

Zebras led 6-0 at the interval and never looked back in a game they dominated throughout.

Social Club pulled two goals back in the second half, but the damage had already been done.

Others on target for the champions were Aaliyah Nolan, Symira Lowe-Darrell and Micah Pond, who each netted twice, with Taznae Fubler adding a sole tally. Sequay Darrell and Kelechi Jones replied for Social Club.

Footy Force Stars recorded their first win of the season after handing Hamilton Parish a 11-1 thrashing.

Cheyra Bell and Dannelle Foote each netted hat-tricks for the winners, with Zara Gibbons, Jahziyah Samuels, LeiLanni Nesbeth, Jada Samuels and Leah Smith also finding the net.

Asreal Basden scored Parish’s consolation goal.

Parish did well to restrict their rivals to a 3-1 lead at the break before the Force Stars opened the floodgates and ran away with the match after the break.

In by far the most thrilling contest of the day, unbeaten Somerset Trojans edged Dandy Stars 7-6.

Shauntae Todd was the toast of the Trojans after firing in a double hat-trick and Deshae Darrell scored the other goal.

Cleshaunae Darrell-Virgil, Shonte Campbell and Kyla Ramatar had two goals each for Stars, who suffered their first defeat of the season.

Trojans led 5-2 at the interval, then withstood a spirited Stars second-half revival that came up just short.
