BAA give Ireland Rangers a thrashing

BAA were the biggest winners in the First Division at the weekend.

The men in green thrashed minnows Ireland Rangers 7-0 at Goose Gosling Field on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Fabian Frankson’s winner early in the second half guided unbeaten league leaders St David’s to a hard fought 1-0 victory away to fellow promotion hopefuls St George’s at Wellington Oval yesterday.

At Southampton Oval, a Keedai Astwood brace earned landlords Southampton Rangers a convincing 3-1 victory over Paget Lions. Khalil Symonds was also on target for Rangers while Paget replied through a goal from Robert Richardson.

Elsewhere, Wolves were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Hamilton Parish at Devonshire Recreation Club.

Raymond Butterfield grabbed a first half brace as the hosts led 2-0 at the break.

However, Hamilton Parish scored two unanswered goals after the restart to come away with a hard earned point, bouncing back from their FA Cup loss last weekend.

At PHC Field, Quadir Maynard’s lone strike earned hosts Young Men’s Social Club, the only other unbeaten team in the league, a 1-0 victory over X-Roads.
