Trott unused sub for England

Nathan Trott was an unsued substitute for England Under-20 in their 2-0 victory at home to Switzerland in a friendly at St George's Park yesterday.

The Bermuda goalkeeper watched from the bench as England prevailed with goals from George Hirst and Elliot Embleton.

Coach Paul Simpson's side take on Holland in a friendly in Katwijk on Monday.

Trott, who plays for West Ham's Under-23s in the Premier League 2, has yet to concede for England Under-20s in four previous appearances.

He made his England Under-20 debut in a 3-0 win away to Holland last September and also kept clean sheets against the Czech Republic, Portugal and Poland.

He was also a member of the England squad that won the 2017 European Under-19 Championship in Georgia.

The former BAA player signed an initial 2½-year deal with West Ham in January 2016, which has since been extended until 2020.

He has established himself as the No 1 for the club's Premier League 2 side.
