Wolves furious after late goal ruled out
Wolves 0 Vasco 0
Vasco are still waiting for their first victory since returning to the league this season, after battling to a goalless draw with Wolves at Bernard Park.
Wolves had the better of the chances in the second half despite being reduced to ten men on the hour when Jay Minors was sent off for a second yellow card.
After that substitute, Vincent Minors had two good opportunities to break the deadlock, first shooting wide and then moments later volleying over the bar from inside the box. At the other end, a good ball into the Wolves box from the left resulted in captain Ricardo Ponte miskicking with just the goalkeeper to beat.
Wolves thought they had netted a winner in the 89th minute when Paulo Sousa steered home a header from a Minors cross, but the assistant referee's flag was up for offside, much to their annoyance.
The point was the first of the season for Vasco, who lost to Devonshire Colts 4-1 in their season-opener before going down 1-0 to Flanagan's Onions last weekend.
