Robin Hood, the defending champions, will face the winners of the FA Cup quarter-final between BAA and St David's in the semi-finals of the competition.

Hood, who beat First Division side Southampton Rangers in last year's final, were the first name drawn yesterday by Shannon Burgess, the chairman of the competitions committee.

X-Roads and Dandy Town will meet in the other semi-final, with X-Roads aiming to reach the FA Cup final for the first time.

Town are one win away from a fifteenth appearance in the final. They have five titles under their belt, including three wins in four years between 2012 and 2015.

The matches will take place on March 30 at 8pm and March 31 at 4pm, with the venues to be confirmed after the tie between BAA and St David's at Goose Gosling Field tonight at 9pm.

John Barry Nusum, the Hood coach, expects a tough match no matter the opponent.

“BAA are going to be a tough game as well as St David's,” Nusum said. “We haven't seen St David's yet; we're not exactly sure what they would bring.

“They are going to be up for it as this is their chance to make something of their season.

“Either way, it's going to be a good fixture; we just have to make sure we're ready.

“There is a reason these teams are still involved. These two are teams nobody would have predicted to be a part of [the semi-finals], but in the FA Cup anything can happen.”

Hood missed out on the league championship, with PHC Zebras retaining the title last weekend, however, they do have the FA Cup to contend for. Hood are aiming to reach a third final in four years.

X-Roads hammered Town 6-0 in the league last November, but the Hornets avenged that loss with a 5-2 win on Sunday to strengthen their grip on third place, which X-Roads had occupied for most of the season.

X-Roads, who went top of the Premier Division with victory over Devonshire Cougars in October, have not won a league match since that win over Town, slumping to fifth in the table.

Their only two wins of the year have come in the cup where they beat First Division sides Wolves and St George's to reach the last four.

They may look to bring back college student Paul Simons for the semi-finals. Paul Simons who has returned from school in Tennessee on a few occasions this season.
