BFA announces sponsorship deal with Footy Promotions

The Bermuda Football Association’s player development committee has announced what is believed to be a landmark sponsorship with the Footy Promotions Youth Futsal League.

The Youth Futsal League started in 2020 for ages 8 to 11, and has been a “great development tool for young players to improve skills, confidence, speed of play and touch”.

This year the Youth Futsal League added ages 12 to 14, and the player development committee provided venue rentals and footballs.

“The PDC considers futsal to be an excellent tool to aid in the development of young players,” said BFA president Mark Wade. “We are committed to supporting the establishment of development opportunities for players through futsal. The partnership with Footy Promotions will help the BFA achieve its strategic goals.”

Vinzie Zuill, of Footy Promotions, said: “We would also like to thank the Bermuda Football Association for supporting the futsal league and youth development. Futsal is an exciting, small-sided game (5 v 5), and there will be lots of goals and skills on display, so we are looking forward to beginning the league and being able to record some of these moments using Veo technology.

“In addition to the recorded matches, the standings and stats will also be available shortly after each game.”

The Youth Futsal League will begin on June 27 at the National Sports Centre hockey turf and welcomes boys and girls from ages 8 to 14.

The deadline for registration is June 18.
