Reggie Lambe has joined AFC Sudbury after completing a move from the club’s Isthmian League North Division rivals Stowmarket Town.

The club today confirmed they have secured the services of Bermuda’s most capped player having agreed to the terms of an undisclosed deal.

“AFC Sudbury are delighted to announce the signing of Bermudan International Reggie Lambe who has recently left Stowmarket Town,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Reggie has a wealth of experience having played professionally for Ipswich, Bristol Rovers, Carlisle and Cambridge as well as Toronto FC & Nykopings and has played 46 times for his country.

“It's Reggie's birthday tomorrow and what better present could there be than to go straight into the match day squad for the game against Lowestoft.

“On a personal note it is a relief to see Reggie here at the club playing for us rather than against us now having witnessed him netting twice against us already this season in both F.A Cup ties we played against Stowmarket earlier this season. He has 10 goals so far this season. Here's to seeing that rise steadily over the rest of the season.

“Welcome Reggie, we hope you enjoy your football here with us as much as we enjoy you gracing the famous Yellow.”

Lambe joined Stowmarket in 2020 and went onto score 20 goals in 65 appearances, including on his debut in a 5-0 thrashing of Eynesbury Rovers in the FA Vase.

Town also announced today that Lambe had parted ways with them in a statement posted on Twitter.

The club statement read: “Reggie Lambe moves on. Thank you Reggie Lambe for your amazing talent and energetic contributions to Stowmarket Town. Your support has been greatly appreciated. Wishing you all the best and good luck.

“Sincere thanks to @reggienaldo19 for everything during his time at Stow. A player that has left us with great memories. All the very best for the future Reggie.”

Lambe also took to Twitter to announce his departure from the club.

“Sadly my time at @stowtownfc has come to an end, want to wish the players and staff the very best for the rest of the season,” he posted. “And to the fans you’ve been absolutely wonderful.”

Lambe’s departure arrives on the heels of his game-winning exploits in Stowmarket’s 2-1 win away to Brentford Town in the league at The Brentwood Centre Arena last weekend.

The Bermuda midfielder netted the winner in the 69th minute during a cagey affair to get the club’s promotion push back on track.
