Milan Butterfield is determined to help his new club Nuneaton Borough achieve promotion next season.

The Bermuda midfielder has joined the Warwickshire club from fellow English non-league side Alfreton after agreeing to the terms of an undisclosed deal.

“After meeting with the gaffer [manager Jimmy Ginnelly] and Andy [head coach Andy Danylyszyn], it was quite easy for me to decide that Nuneaton was where I wanted to be,” Butterfield commented on the club’s website. “The vision they have for the football club and team definitely ticked a lot of boxes.

“I'm here to put in the hard work and help the club gain promotion. I'm ready and excited for the upcoming season.”

Ginnelly has high expectations for the 25-year-old who represented Bermuda during the island’s historic debut at the Concacaf Gold Cup in 2019.

“Kacy Milan Butterfield is 6ft 4in tall and very tidy in the air,” he said. “He’s technically good on the ball and very tenacious in the tackle.

“Kacy has already played alongside our very own Ozzie Osbourne whilst they were at Walsall FC together. Josh Ginnelly, who played in the same Walsall team, gives him a glowing reference, so that’ll do for me!

“We welcome him on to this Nuneaton Borough FC project and hopefully he can help us push even further than last year’s disappointing play-off.”

Nuneaton narrowly missed out on promotion last season after losing to Butterfield’s former club Rushall Olympic on penalties in the play-off final.

They play in the Southern League Premier Division Central, the seventh tier in the English football pyramid, and a tier below the Vanarama National League North that Butterfield’s former club Alfreton play in.

As well as Walsall, Rushall and Alfreton, the experienced player has also had playing stints at fellow English sides Guiseley, Chesterfield and Kidderminster Harriers.
