Chikosi Basden is determined to make the most of his next opportunity as he prepares to showcase his football talents at new club Buckhurst Hill.

The Bermuda forward has joined the Essex Senior Football League side from Redbridge FC after agreeing to the terms of an undisclosed deal and is looking forward to the upcoming season with plenty of enthusiasm.

“I will give everything for this club,” Basden posted on his Twitter page. “Let’s have a big season.”

The 28-year-old’s hard work ethic and commitment throughout pre-season has paid off as he was handed a deal by the club who have high expectations for the player.

“We would like to welcome the Bermuda international to Buckhurst Hill,” read a statement on the club’s Twitter page.

“Kosi has impressed in pre-season and his work rate and goals will be a great addition to the football club.”

Basden has made appearances for a string of English clubs since moving to the United Kingdom at the age of fifteen, including Mansfield Town Academy, Stoke City under-17s, Enfield Town, Chesterfield United under-21s, Hertford Town, Cockfosters, Hatfield Town and London Colney.

He also represented the national side at under-20 level before going on to make his senior debut in a 2-2 draw against Cuba in an international friendly in 2019.

Basden, who is also a former Somerset Trojans player, is among several new faces at Buckhurst Hill, who finished seventeenth in the Essex Senior Football League, the ninth tier in the English football pyramid and a feeder league to Division One North in the Isthmian League.

Buckhurst Hill, who made their debut in the prestigious FA Cup last season, are led by manager Mark Williams and play their home matches at Myrak Park, Roding Lane.
