Justin Donawa headlines five changes to the Bermuda senior men’s squad for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League group matches against Belize.

The 27-year-old, who joined Altrincham from Vanarama National League rivals Solihull Moors in June, has been recalled along with Jaylon Bather, Djair Williams and J’Nai Steede, while Keziah Martin, 23, who plays for Boston United in the National League North, is a new addition to the squad.

Bermuda, who sit second from bottom in the four-team group C of League B, having followed up a 0-0 home draw with French Guiana with a 4-3 away defeat to St Vincent & the Grenadines last month, are gearing up for back-to-back fixtures against Belize, away next Friday before returning to the Flora Duffy Stadium four days later.

Head coach Michael Findlay has called upon his players to continue building towards what he is trying to implement, while looking for strong performances across the two matches.

“The group needs to remain focused on the plan we have set out,’’ Findlay said.

“This includes the ongoing development of our game model, setting of high standards on all levels, and a continued commitment to our match performances, which we feel strongly will provide the required results in our two matches versus Belize.”

Assistant coach John Barry Nusum is seeking for steady progress from the team with the players playing under no pressure and able to express themselves.

“Our focus needs to be on creating consistency of performances,’’ Nusum said. “The previous matches have been a great stepping stone, but in both matches, there was a vital part of the game that we lacked, even if for as mall moment.

“Concentrating for the full time of the match is imperative, and playing with a bit of freedom and swagger.”
