Dandy Town will be keen to pick up where they left off when they travel to Wellington Oval to face hosts Hamilton Parish in the Premier Division tomorrow.

The visitors are heading into the exciting match-up with momentum having secured their first league win of the season at the third attempt in a hard-fought contest with Young Men’s Social Club at Goose Gosling Field on Monday night.

“Getting our first win was important in order to remain in touching distance of the teams ahead of us,” Town coach Aaron Denkins told The Royal Gazette.

“It wasn’t a relief because we know our quality and that we should be putting in better performances.

“The team remains focused on putting the work required to perform at a high level. There are a few leaders in the group that constantly keep the team inspired and focused.”

Denkins admits his team’s work has been cut out for them against a Parish side still searching for their first league win and keen to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Devonshire Cougars in the Dudley Eve Trophy semi-final at PHC Field on Wednesday night.

“Hamilton Parish are an organised team that have very talented passionate players who are always ready to battle,” he added. “We will have to be at our best to compete.”

Parish are without midfielder Samuel McKittrick and coach Sergio Goater, who were both shown red cards by referee Tashun Simons after the final whistle of Wednesday’s cup-tie for swearing at a match official.

In tomorrow’s remaining Premier Division matches, North Village, who trail leaders Paget Lions on goal difference, host bottom team X-Roads at Bernard Park, while Social Club are at home to champions PHC Zebras at Police Field. Both matches begin at 3pm.

Action in the top flight kicks off today with Paget hosting Devonshire Cougars at Southampton Oval; while St George’s Colts are at home against Somerset Trojans at Wellington Oval. Matches begin at 3pm.

Vasco Gama will host Ireland Island Rangers in today’s sole First Division contest at Goose Gosling Field, which begins at 9pm.

In tomorrow’s remaining First Division matches, high-flying Devonshire Colts are up against Somerset Eagles at Police Field, Boulevard host Robin Hood at Goose Gosling Field, while Wolves and St David’s Warriors will do battle at Bernard Park. Matches begin at 12.30pm.
