Hamilton Parish continued with their newly found winning formula with a fourth victory on the spin in the Premier Division, overcoming Somerset Trojans last night.

A goal in either half from Kion Knights and Justin Bell sealed all three points for Sergio Goater’s side, condemning struggling Trojans to a fourth straight defeat, and sixth loss of the campaign.

Parish striker Macquille Walker was gifted with the first sight of goal in the thirteenth minute, but he failed to capitalise.

Nigel Burgess, the Parish goalkeeper used his feet to deny Jaz Ratteray-Smith’s shot at goal in the 20th minute, before being called into action five minutes later to thwart Ratteray-Smith.

Parish continued to enjoy the lion’s share of possession and came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock in the 35th minute as Zuhri Burgess’s long-range effort beat Trojans goalkeeper Yizharyah Williams, but not the woodwork, as the ball came crashing back off the crossbar.

However, the visitors were finally rewarded for their dominance in the 39th minute as in-form Knights headed home Kyah Trott’s cross for his third goal in as many matches.

In the 59th minute, Samario Valasse-Paul saw his goal-bound free kick smartly tipped over by Williams, as Parish searched for their second goal.

A neat exchange of passes resulted in Bell extending the lead for Parish in the 64th minute with a well-struck effort that flew past the reach of Williams.

Refusing to rest on their laurels, Parish continued to push forward and came close to adding a third late on as Walker beat Williams, only to see his effort come back off the upright.

Trojans created a rare opportunity in the final moments, but Jaden Ratteray-Smith lacked composure at the crucial moment, spurning the chance after being set up by Jadon Simmons.
