Telford Mile

Action from last year’s Telford Electric Magic Mile at the National Sports Centre. Tomorrow’s race will mark the 15th anniversary of the event.

The Telford Electric Mile is 15 years old tomorrow and more than 1,000 children will be turning out to help celebrate the occasion.As part of the festivities there will be a schools’ challenge at the event with $200 up for grabs.Overall 1030 children, from ages four to 15, have signed up to take part, and the large number of entrants means that there will be no late registration.Boys and girls will run a –variety of distances throughout –tomorrow’s event with four-year-olds kicking things off at 12pm with a 400 metre race around the National Sports Centre track.For the 13-15 year-olds, there will be a mile race, which will begin at the stadium, take them out into the Arboretum, and then finish in the stadium.Number pick-up for the day will be at the cricket pavillion at the NSC between 8.30am and 11am only, and parking will be available at the same spot.
