Franklin, Foster clash in team championships

Micah Franklin will face off against Patrick Foster in the opening round of the 2011 Bermuda BluePrinting Team Squash Championships tonight at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Centre.

Play starts with the first round and features eight matches between the teams of three, highlighted by seven-time Bermuda National Champion Foster squaring off against two-time Bermuda National Junior Champion, 19 year-old, Franklin.

Franklin, having just returned from a summer competing at the Caribbean and World Championships, will be looking to repeat his victory over Foster in May’s World Distributors Championships.

The highly anticipated match should produce some scintillating squash in what is expected to see a packed crowd.

Now in its second year, the Championships will have over 60 players competing in 16 teams over four days for the title.

The event is free to watch with matches starting at 6pm and are on nightly from today to Saturday.
