Jamaica too strong for Bermuda

Bermuda’s national squash team are still searching for their first victory in the team competition of the Caribbean Area Squash Championships in Trinidad.The Islanders, who lost in the initial rounds to OECS and Guyana, were beaten by Jamaica 4-1 on Saturday in the first stage of the consolation plate competition.Caribbean men’s champion Chris Binnie continued to show dominant form with a straight sets win. Binnie, who is also the reigning All Jamaica men’s champion, has not lost a set so far in the competition.Binnie’s team-mates Bruce Burrowes, Warren Burrowes and Kyle Chin also posted wins against Bermuda. However, Joey Levy, who recently underwent surgery, was forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury to give Bermuda one win by walkover.
