Women’s health group brings 100
An anti-obesity campaign will get a good showing in the Bermuda race weekend, with the participation of Black Girls Run.
The group, pulling together hundreds of black women from across the United States as part of a health drive, will be bringing about 100 runners to the Island.
Colorado-based Bermudian Yolanda Jones, who is helping organise the trip, is looking forward to showing off her Island roots.
“Most of these people haven’t been to Bermuda before — a lot of them didn’t even know where Bermuda was,” said Ms Jones.
“Really it’s going to be a vacation for many of them, a chance to get away and enjoy a beautiful island, while getting some good exercise done.
“For myself, it’s a chance to visit and see everyone.”
Ms Jones said most of the group will be taking part in the half-marathon, with a handful in the 10K.
