Bascome and Smith triumph

Jenson Bascome and Tyler Smith were crowned champions at the Elbow Beach Tennis Challenge at the weekend.
Bascome defeated Jovan Whitter 6-7, 6-0, 10-8, while Smith triumphed over Jacklyn Lambert 6-0, 6-2 in Saturday's finals.
In the men's semi-finals, Bascome beat Gavin Manders, the defending champions, 6-4, 2-6, 10-8, with Whitter defeated Courtland Boyle 6-2, 6-7, 10-4.
Meanwhile, in the men's doubles final, Bascome and Neal Towlson got the better of Manders and David Thomas, winning a close encounter 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
The final game of the women's doubles which featured Smith and Lambert on opposing teams was not played.
