Phillips wins again in Aruba

Daniel Phillips won a second straight game without dropping a set when he beat No 1 seed Sebastian Ruiz, of Aruba, 6-0, 6-0 to reach the semi-finals of the TIHTA Aruba tournament yesterday. Playing on the under-14 circuit, Phillips has proven to be a player to watch as he beat Venezuela's Miguel Chavez by the same score on Monday.

Bermudian Phillips is playing matches in various Caribbean countries this summer, travelling to the Bahamas this weekend for the Nassau Jumkanoo Bowl which takes place from July 2 to 8.

After that he will play in the Jamaica Junior Tournament in Kingston from July 9 to 15 and then the Dominican Republic Copa Merangue from July 16 to 22.
