Manders and Jordan-Whitter hail success of Fun Day

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

Gavin Manders has hailed the success of the inaugural Manders Tennis Management Disa and GG Fun Day at the Fairmont Southampton Tennis Club last weekend.

The event honoured Manders's mother, Disa Potgieter-Oubella, and fellow coach Jovan Jordan-Whitter's father, George “GG” Jordan, who both died at the start of the year.

“We couldn't have asked for a better day to honor my mom and GG,” said Manders, the Bermuda No 1.

“I know they were watching and smiling down on us. There was so much kids' laughter and love in the air.

“Truly a day that brought the tennis community together, and showed Bermuda that tennis is for everyone.”

Jordan-Whitter added: “Thank you to everyone that came out to support our memorial fun day. The weather was perfect, the energy was palpable and the fun was had by everyone.”

The fun-packed event included a beat-the-pro competition, a fun castle, snow cones, red ball tennis, a challenge court and ball machine court.

Jovan Jordan-Whitter shares his knowledge with youngsters at the Manders Tennis Management Disa and GG Fun Day at the Fairmont Southampton Tennis Club last weekend.
