ICS to stage roundtable on Microsoft Lync software

Bermuda IT services company Independent Consulting Solutions will host a joint “CIO Roundtable” event with Microsoft tomorrow morning to launch the new Microsoft Lync software.The event, which includes a networking breakfast followed by presentations on Microsoft Lync 2010 by George Gobin, Microsoft’s territory manager, and Jose Ramon Diaz, Microsoft regional director, Unified Communications, will provide the island’s key decision makers with the opportunity to discuss Lync directly with Microsoft’s representatives .The “CIO Roundtable” , which begins at 9am , will focus on highlighting how Bermuda’s businesses can, “Harness the power of Lync Microsoft’s new communications and conferencing software suite that revolutionises how companies and their staff can communicate”.Microsoft states that Lync offers a new connected user experience. It says it transforms every communication into an interaction that is more collaborative, more engaging and easily accessible from anywhere.Steve Bull, president and chief operating officer of ICS, said: “Microsoft Lync 2010 is the next generation update to the previous Microsoft Office Communications Server. It weaves together enterprise VoIP; instant messaging and presence with web; audio and video conferencing; and other collaborative tools.“This really is the future of integrated communications and I would urge the Island’s business community to make the most of Microsoft’s management being in Bermuda with us.
