Burns and Viera get top jobs in FAC management shake-up

Bermuda-based online payment solutions provider First Atlantic Commerce (FAC) has announced the appointment of Christopher Burns as chief executive officer and Ronnie Viera as chief operating officer.Effective immediately, the promotions are in line with FAC’s strategic plans to further expand its market presence and continue to deliver bespoke online payment solutions to merchants and banks.Mr Burns, who worked in the UK prior to joining FAC seven years ago, has been promoted from his most recent post as senior vice-president, business development, where he was responsible for all aspects of client relationship management, bank acquirer relationships and strategic partnerships.Mr Burns said: “I am truly excited to take on this challenge and lead FAC through another phase of success. Over the last 13 years, we have provided innovative solutions to the global e-commerce payments market and our talented team is well positioned to take advantage of the current surge in payment technology. There are some exciting growth opportunities ahead for FAC and we will continue to provide unique solutions combined with a superior level of service.”Ronnie Viera, who was formerly chief information officer and senior vice-president of information technology at Capital G Bank, has moved up from the position of senior vice-president, information technology and operations at FAC. Mr Viera is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and has experience across various industry sectors including banking, insurance and e-commerce.Staff in the company’s accounts department have also been promoted with Nathelee Simons moving from the post of accounts and reconciliation officer to manager, accounting. Beverly Hayward has been promoted from accounts and assistant reconciliations officer to accountant.
