TLF invites summer internship applicants

The Technology Leadership Forum is inviting applications for its 12-week summer internship programme. The organisation said that motivated university students who are studying technology or interested in a career in the information and communication technology field are encouraged to apply. The internship programme is a great opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the tech industry, interact with industry leaders, foster relationships, build professional networks and handle real-world business situations, the TLF said. The programme is designed in consultation with industry leaders to give interns exposure to topics and fields specific to the Bermuda tech industry. Over the 12 weeks, interns will participate in workshops on various tech topics, manage and deliver an IT project and acquire experience in the industry working at a sponsor company. TLF alumni Ciera Fox, speaking of her internship experience, said: “The TLF opened my eyes to the different avenues of careers within IT. I learnt about topics not taught while obtaining my degrees and while I thought I knew my career path, the TLF sparked a new interest.”She added: “Applying was the easiest decision I made. The network you obtain is invaluable and the relationships I’ve made overlap professional and personal and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”Application for the internship can be made through the TLF website at www.tlf.bm. The deadline for applications is February 29.The TLF was founded because of an identified need for qualified Bermudian talent in the ICT field. The registered charity is run in partnership between private and public sector technology companies and organisations. The TLF’s prime objectives are to encourage dialogue, address issues, propose action steps, provide mentoring and to be a networking group among peers.
