On Thursday, Madeiros was involved in two wins, as Bermuda defeated Antigua & Barbuda 2-1. Madeiros defeated Janae George-Alexander 6-2, 6-1. Selene Kentish brought Antigua back into the tie with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Jahzuena Bradshaw-Douglas. It came down to the doubles, where Madeiros combined with Amaya Rollins to overcome Samaar Davies and Ariel Naomi Kelsick 6-4, 6-3.

The win over Antigua came after Bermuda found the going tough, with losses by identical 3-0 scorelines to Cuba and Barbados in their opening two fixtures.

Defeat to Puerto Rico saw Bermuda finish fourth in pool A with a 2-10 record, only better than Antigua, who ended bottom with one win as well as 11 losses. Bermuda have a play-off match tomorrow to determine their final position.

Last year, Bermuda finished fifteenth in the Billie Jean King Cup Americas group two played in Dominican Republic, after a 2-0 loss to Panama in the positional play-off, which saw them go down to group three.

Madeiros, Rollins and Nadhira Durham, who are representing the island in Panama were also part of the 2022 team coached by Jovan Whitter.
