Celebrity chef Emeril on Island
Bam! Award-winning celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse was on the Island last week, reportedly enjoying a meal at Port O Call restaurant.
Staff at the restaurant confirmed that Mr Lagasse enjoyed dinner and drinks on Thursday as part of a large group.
“Well, it obviously raised a stir at the bar as he enjoyed a drink before his meal,” one staff member said.
“People showed a lot of interest, but it was a reasonable-sized group, and they kept largely to themselves.
“He had the roast chicken and some sushi from Pearl. He also complimented us on our barbecue calamari.”
In addition to running numerous restaurants, Mr Lagasse has hosted multiple television shows on the Food Network including ‘Emeril Live’ and the ‘Essence of Emeril’. The chef even starred in a short-lived, self-titled sitcom.
