New Bermudian recruits on maiden voyage with NCL

A group of Bermudians have officially joined the ranks of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) staff and started their first voyage yesterday.

Nicolas Butterfield, Brian Morris, Darnell Knight, Denika Outerbridge, Jasmine Simmons, Dominic Roberts and Joliza Vanderpool are all starting their new jobs on-board the NCL mega ship the Norwegian Gem, which sailed out of New York yesterday.

The group were among the 90 applicants who took part in a recruitment session in July, organised by both the NCL and the Ministry of Home Affairs in an effort to create jobs for Bermudians.

Director of the Department of Workforce Development George Outerbridge on Friday formally bade the seven farewell on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
