Green family consider Sonesta site plan

The Green family, who own the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, are considering plans to redevelop the former Sonesta Beach Hotel site as a beach club for Hamilton Princess guests.

The former Sonesta Beach Hotel site on South Shore could become a beach club for guests of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel.

The Green family, who own the Hamilton hotel, are considering plans to redevelop the former resort site.

In a statement it was announced that if the plan went ahead a new private members club would be located on Boat Bay Beach, one of three beaches on the property, and have a restaurant/bar, beach, gym, spa and tennis courts. The beach could have a small dock for water sport activities. The Green family believe the entire project could possibly be completed by spring 2015.

Alexander Green, on behalf of the family, said: “We are looking at numerous options for the property and still in the early stages of planning. We are excited to share our initial vision for the Southampton Beach property and we look forward to providing more updates once we finalise any plans.”

Andrew Green said: “Our immediate goal for the property is enhance The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. The addition of the beach facilities will allow us to offer the best of both worlds, with the convenience of being located in town and access to stunning private beaches.”
