Tourism Minister Shawn Crockwell announced Carnival Cruise Line’s Spirit will not be cruising to Bermuda next season, but the Splendour will.

In a Ministerial Statement to MPs on Friday, Mr Crockwell said his initial statement last week that both ships would make calls next year was a mistake.

“Between the time of the approval and the preparation of the Cruise Ship Schedule, Carnival made the decision to redeploy the ship to another location, but did not inform us,” he said.

The berthing request was submitted in January.

“For 2014, we will have 104 regular callers and 27 occasional calls, including Carnival Splendour and Vision of the Seas,” he added.
