A Bermuda-bound cruise ship was struck by a fishing boat early Saturday morning off the coast of Massachusetts.

According to the US Coast Guard, the Norwegian Pearl was about 41 miles east of Nantucket at about 2.35am that day when it collided the 92ft fishing boat Gabby G.

The Gabby G reportedly struck the cruise ship midship, resulting in damage to the bow of the vessel.

A spokesman for the fishing vessel told US media that one person on-board the boat suffered a cut to their face in the incident, but was expected to be all right.

The cruise ship meanwhile suffered only superficial scratches and continued toward the island after a brief delay for assessment.
