Wayne Caines to chair BTA a further three years

Wayne Caines, a Progressive Labour Party MP who also serves as president of Belco, has been named as chairman of the board for the Bermuda Tourism Authority for an additional term of three years after his appointment in 2020.

A notice gazetted online stated that Owen Darrell, the acting tourism minister, renewed Mr Caines’s tenure for three years from October 20.

Kim Swan, another PLP backbencher, has had his place on the BTA board extended a further three years, while Ronald Simmons, a former director of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, has been appointed a board member, also for three years.

No further details were given in the notice online.
