Evans and Darrell set for NCAA finals

Bermuda athletes Aaron Evans and Latroya Darrell will be gunning for glory at the NCAA Indoor Championships at College Station at Texas A&M University this weekend.

It will be Evans' first appearance at the finals and he will be running in the 800 metres, an event he holds both the university's indoor and outdoor records.

His University of Georgia team-mate, Darrell, will be competing in the triple jump.

Also this weekend, four local athletes will be looking to do the Island proud at the 35th Gibson Relays to be held in Jamaica. Bermuda's foursome is Shaquille Dill, Juma Mouchette, Darico Clarke and Chayce Smith. It is the first time Bermuda have competed at the Relays.

Bermuda's 2012 Carifta Games organising committee are set to launch their official website which will be used to display results and on-line web streaming throughout the next year's Games.

This site will include the history of the Games, records, list of countries participating and any other information relevant to the local public and any visitor interested in coming to Bermuda for the annual event.

The link to this website is www.carifta2012.com which will be available from the start of next week.
