Tyrone in Turkey for Indoor Worlds

Bermuda long jumper Tyrone Smith will be striving for a strong finish when he competes at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey at the weekend.

Smith, who won the gold medal at the CAC Games in Puerto Rico in 2010, took part in an indoor meet in Tarta, Estonia, last week, leaping 7.82 metres to claim second place.

Also in action this weekend will be a trio of Bermuda athletes at the NCAA Track and Field Championship qualifiers, which will see the top 16 university performers in each event compete.

Jasmine Brunson has been ranked 4th in the triple jump, Arantxa King has been ranked second in the long jump and Aaron Evans third in the 800m.

At the 2010 NCAA championships, King placed second in the long jump and Aaron Evans third in the 800m.
