Kids return for the Round Grounds race

Botanical Gardens will host the annual KPMG ‘Round the Grounds’ Race on Sunday (1pm).

This is the 14th year that KPMG have sponsored the event with race expertise and organisational assistance again being provided by the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club, Bermuda Track and Field Association and Bermuda Timing.

For the first time the race will also be supported by Masterworks, who will remain open for race day, offering refreshments and hosting fun activities, children’s crafts, and adding to the family friendly atmosphere of the day.

This weekend’s race follows on the heels of the ‘KPMG Bermuda International Mile’ and ‘Dash at Dark’ held earlier this year and will conclude this season’s series of junior running events.

Sunday’s race will involve junior runners ranging in ages from four to 18.

All participants will receive a prize, whether on the podium or at the completion of a race.

All races will be chip timed. Chip and number pick-up commences at noon. The timing chip stand is situated near the start of the race to the left of the South Shore entrance to the gardens.

Entrants may register for the event at Sportseller, the KPMG office at 4 Par la Ville Road or online at www.racedayworld.com.

Entry deadline is 4:45pm on today with no late entries to be accepted.

Among the pre-race favourites in their respective age groups are Zakiyyah Showers, Quinnae Outerbridge and Zano Tucker.
