Dash scoop medals in North Carolina
The Dash Track Club won seven medals and achieved several personal bests at last weekend’s Russell E Blunt East Coast Invitational Track Meet in Durham, North Carolina.
Dash sent nine athletes to the meet with Suresh Black taking gold in the 13-14 100 and 200 metres, clocking personal best times of 11.16 and 22.54 seconds.
Black was also voted the outstanding athlete in his age group and earned a place in the top ten all-time best performances in both events in the history of the East Coast meet. Kearje Davis won gold in the 13-14 long jump while Sadiq Nurse and Stephan Dill won bronze in the 15-16 long jump and 200, with Dill’s time of 23.33 a personal best.
Dash also brought home gold in the 17-18 long jump where Ethan Philip took first place, while the 17-18 4x100 relay team placed third. Deneo Brangman had a personal best in the 15-16 400 in 51.68.
DeJon Bean finished ninth in the Under-8 boys 100, while Kionje Somner was eighth in the 17-18 200 and Tahje Taylor thirteenth in the 100.
