Minors earns conference honours

Dage Minors has been named track athlete of the week in the Northeast-10 Conference following his performances at the weekend.

Minors, a Junior at Franklin Pierce University, won the 1000 metres on Sunday at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational in Cambridge, Massachusetts in a time of 2min 27.53sec.

The time was the best so far in the Northeast-10 this season, and also met the NEICAAA Championships qualifying standard.

That meet will be held on February 27 at Boston University.

Minors also picked up a win in the 300 at the indoor track facility at Harvard University, with a best time of 36.36 seconds.

The Ravens men’s track and field programme was ranked No 18 in the country this week in the USTFCCCA’s first national ranking of the indoor season.

They were the third of three teams from the Northeast-10 to earn national rankings this week, behind American International, in twelfth, and Southern Connecticut State, in thirteenth.
