Anticipation building for Carifta Games

The Bermuda National Athletics Association will hold a Carifta Games 2020 Pep Rally in Hamilton today, starting with a motorcade at noon from the Parsons Road playground to City Hall.

Bermuda will host the next Games from April 10 to 13, for a fifth time.

Today’s motorcade will leave Parsons Road, turn left on Till’s Hill onto Court Street before continuing on Church Street, King Street, Reid Street and Queen Street to City Hall where the rally will begin at 12.30pm, opened by Town Crier Ed Christopher. Councillor John Harvey, the acting Mayor of Hamilton, will address the crowd along with BNAA president Donna Raynor, the chairperson of Carifta 2020.

Lovitta Foggo, the Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sport, will also speak prior to the introduction of past and present Carifta Games athletes at 2pm.
