Driver died of natural causes, autopsy reveals

A 68-year-old man who died in a single-vehicle car crash early on Tuesday has been identified as Albert Simons.

Police have also stated that Mr Simons, who was found in an unresponsive state in his car, died of natural causes and his death is therefore not being classified as a road fatality.

The finding was made after an autopsy.

Therefore, the number of fatal road traffic collisions for this year remains at eight.

The police extended condolences to the family of Mr Simons, who was found in his car at the junction of Watch Hill and South Road in Smith’s just after 4am.
