Additional services have been added to the ferry schedule over the Cup Match holiday, the Department of Marine and Port Services announced this afternoon.

An updated Orange Route timetable includes additional departures from Watford Bridge, Dockyard and Hunter’s Wharf in St George’s.

Wayne Furbert, the Minister of Transport, praised the department for revising service provision over the holiday to include August 4, the second day of the annual classic.

He said: “The original schedule only had service to St George's on the first day of the Cup Match.

“I challenged the team to devise a plan to extend the service to the second day, and they delivered.

“In addition to the regular weekday schedule, there are morning departures from Watford Bridge at 7am, Dockyard at 7.15am and an evening return from St George's at 9pm."

Mr Furbert encouraged residents to take advantage of the special holiday ferry service.

He added: "If relaxation is what you seek this holiday, hop on a ferry and cruise down to St George's to enjoy the match."

A spokeswoman said that all ferry services, excluding the green route, will operate on a weekday schedule.
