Teenager suffers serious neck injury after crash in St David’s

A teenager suffered a serious neck injury last night after a traffic collision on Southside Road in St David’s.

A police spokesman said the 17-year-old male was found lying on the median west of Lower Gates Road Roundabout and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

“The motorcycle was reported to have been travelling east along Southside Road when the rider lost control of the bike and struck the median causing him to fall to the ground,” the spokesman said.

“Officers later attended KEMH and were informed the rider had sustained a serious neck injury.”

The area was closed to traffic for a little more than three hours as officers from the forensic support unit and a traffic collision investigator processed the scene.
