Police will be conducting sobriety checks throughout the island starting on Friday.

According to a statement from the Bermuda Police Service, officers from community policing, tactical operations, roads policing and the Operation Vega division will operate the checkpoints in all nine parishes until November 9.

Urging motorists not to drive vehicles while impaired, the statement added: “If you are intending to go out and socialise, make sure you have arranged for a designated driver, taxi or another responsible transportation service to get you to your destination safely.”
